Each result shows the verse reference (e.g., Romans 5:8) alongside a short excerpt from the verse text or commentary. Matched terms are highlighted in yellow within the snippet so you can assess relevance at a glance.

Search behavior
- Case-insensitive — searching for
grace,Grace, orGRACEall return the same results. - Verse text and commentary — matches are returned from both the Bible verse text and the expository commentary body for every verse across all 16 chapters.
- Highlighted matches — matched terms are highlighted in yellow throughout the result snippets, and the highlighting carries through when you navigate to the full verse entry.
- Inline highlighting on navigation — when you open a verse from the results list, the full commentary for that verse is displayed with your search term highlighted wherever it appears, making it easy to find the relevant sentence in longer entries.
Clearing a search
Click the × button on the right side of the search bar, or pressEscape, to clear the current query. The results list closes and the app returns to your previous chapter view. If no chapter was open before you searched, the welcome screen is shown instead.
Searches run entirely in your browser against the built-in commentary data. No network request is made.
